108 Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutations) to Celebrate Winter Solstice

Sign up here

In yoga, 108 is a sacred number - woven into traditions of prayer, meditation, and devotion. Surya Namaskar, the Sun Salutation, is a gesture of gratitude toward the light that sustains life. Together, these practices invite us to pause, breathe, move, and remember our place within something larger than ourselves. With each repetition, we return. To the breath. To the body. To the present moment. This isn't about perfection, pushing through, or proving what we can endure. It's about meeting ourselves where we are - allowing movement to become meditation, repetition to become reflection, and community to hold us through the practice. 108 times, we begin again.

What to Expect
In celebration of the light returning -- Winter Solstice -- let us gather together to practice 108 Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutations). Discover the light deep down inside of you, then share it all around, especially on the shortest day of the year.

All levels are welcome as many options are provided --- rest assured this is not a 108 chaturanga dandasana!

Be in community -- practice as few or as many as you wish. Rest as needed.

In the words of one student, "The 108 Sun Salutes were spiritual, emotional, exhilarating and fun!!!"

Experience an uplifting playlist to keep you inspired. Natural materials are used to keep track of each Sun Salutation.  Rest well in a longer savasana (final resting pose).
