Aubree Gilbert
Aubree first came into yoga in high school. Her brother was always dragging her to the gym with him and it was the only movement medicine that felt accessible. There was a lightness and relief that came after every class leaving a lingering curiosity of why. After doing a couple work trades at local studios to get more immersed in the practice she started studying the science behind yoga and mindfulness specifically related to trauma and mental health.
Aubree spent 7 years working for a non-profit teaching trauma-informed yoga and mindfulness at 15+ schools and detention centers around the bay area to educate students, staff, and social workers about the effects of stress and emotions on our bodies, brains and behaviors. After leaving the non-profit she began building her own private practice under the name
Mindful Skulls where she offers a variety of healing practices.
Aubree’s teachings have included support groups for women in addiction recovery, adults with disabilities, and seniors as well as providing 1:1 support in private therapeutic somatic yoga sessions. She also teaches monthly mini yoga retreats, weekly outdoor practices and online series.
Aubree loves pulling from lineages like Hatha, Restorative and Yin Yoga as well as Qigong, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and other somatic practices. Each class blends seasonal practices to support the whole person. You are invited to slow down and come back home to yourself.
